Vimonto Deploy vs Cloudways
Cloudways is managed cloud hosting: it runs the server for you on a provider you pick and bills the server and the platform together, with 24/7 support. Vimonto Deploy is a control panel: your servers run in your own cloud account or on any Ubuntu VPS, you pay the provider directly, and Vimonto Deploy costs one price per organization. Choose Cloudways if you want one bill and someone else to answer for the server; choose Vimonto Deploy if you want to own the servers and deploy from Git with zero-downtime releases.

Where they differ
Who owns the server. On Cloudways the server is part of the plan: Cloudways creates it at the provider you choose and charges for it by the hour, together with the platform, its 24/7 support and add-ons such as a CDN. That is simpler if you want one invoice and no cloud account of your own. With Vimonto Deploy the server is created in your own cloud account or is any Ubuntu VPS you already have; the provider bills you at its own prices, and you keep root access and the server if you ever stop using Vimonto Deploy.
Hosting versus deploying. Cloudways is built around applications such as WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento, Laravel and PHP, with staging, cloning and Git pulls. Vimonto Deploy is built around Git deploys: every deploy is built in a new release and only switched live when it succeeded, with rollback to an earlier release, and it also runs Node.js apps such as Next.js and Nuxt next to PHP.
What the price covers. Cloudways charges per server, with backups, CDN and DNS as add-ons. Vimonto Deploy costs €15 per month per organization for any number of servers, sites and members, with backups to your own S3-compatible storage, uptime monitoring, load balancing and server transfers included. Your server and storage bills come from your providers.
Moving over from Cloudways
Vimonto Deploy does not import from Cloudways, and a Cloudways server cannot be connected as it is: provisioning needs a clean Ubuntu 24.04 or 26.04 server with root access. You move by building a new server next to the old one and switching DNS when it works.
Create a server in your own cloud account or connect a fresh VPS, create a site for each application from its Git repository (WordPress is installed for you), import your database dump on the new server, copy uploaded files, and test on the site's generated address. Then point your domain to the new server and request a free Let's Encrypt certificate. Keep the Cloudways server until everything runs.
Questions about Vimonto Deploy and Cloudways
Is Vimonto Deploy an alternative to Cloudways?
For people who want to run their own servers, yes. Cloudways is managed hosting that includes the server in its price; Vimonto Deploy manages and deploys to servers in your own cloud account or on any Ubuntu VPS. If you want the server, support and billing handled by one company, Cloudways fits that better.
Is Vimonto Deploy cheaper than Cloudways?
It depends on your servers. Cloudways prices include the server, so they cannot be compared one to one. With Vimonto Deploy you pay your cloud provider for the server at its own prices, plus €15 per month per organization for Premium, whatever the number of servers. The free plan covers 1 server and 3 sites.
Does Vimonto Deploy give 24/7 managed support for my server?
No. Vimonto Deploy provisions and secures the server, keeps its services running and shows you what happens on it, but the server is yours. Cloudways sells 24/7 support for the servers it runs, with faster support as an add-on.
Can I host WordPress on Vimonto Deploy?
Yes. The WordPress preset installs WordPress for you, and site features add real cron, a Redis object cache and hardening. See WordPress hosting.
Where is my data?
Vimonto Deploy is made and hosted in the EU. Your sites run on servers in the provider and region you choose, such as Hetzner in Germany or Finland, and backups go to storage you own.
