Where Vimonto Deploy and Ploi differ

Breadth and track record. Ploi has been on the market longer and covers more ground: more cloud providers, such as UpCloud, Debian as well as Ubuntu, file backups next to database backups, more backup destinations (such as Dropbox, Google Drive and SFTP), and public status pages. If you need any of those, Ploi is the stronger fit.

What the price includes. Ploi's plans unlock features step by step: zero-downtime deploys, backups and server monitoring from Pro (€13 per month), team management and status pages on Unlimited (€30 per month). Vimonto Deploy has one paid plan, Premium at €15 per month per organization without limits, and every feature, including teams, backups, monitoring and the audit log, is also on the free plan. See billing.

Teams and organizations. Vimonto Deploy is built around organizations with five roles (owner, administrator, manager, developer, viewer), teams that limit who sees which servers, an audit log, and server transfers to another organization, for example when a client takes over their servers.

Both European. Ploi is made in the Netherlands and hosted in Europe; Vimonto Deploy is made and hosted in the EU. Vimonto Deploy's interface is in English, Dutch, German, French and Italian.

Information about Ploi was checked on 7 October 2026 from its public website and documentation, linked above. Ploi is a trademark of its owner; it is named here only to compare.

Moving over from Ploi

Vimonto Deploy can take Ploi servers over in place. On the Servers page, choose Import from Forge or Ploi, pick Ploi and paste an API key from your Ploi profile. Vimonto Deploy lists your servers; you pick the ones to bring over.

Nothing is reinstalled and your domains keep pointing at the same servers, so visitors notice nothing. For each server, Vimonto Deploy gets access through Ploi, then takes over databases and database users, firewall rules, workers, cron jobs and the sites with their repository, environment file, deploy script and certificate. Ploi's Nginx files, Supervisor programs and cron jobs are moved to /root/vimonto-takeover-backup on the server, not deleted.

When a server is done, archive it in Ploi so only one tool manages it. Imported servers and sites count towards your plan like any other, and the 7-day Premium trial is enough to try a full import.

  • Database passwords are not readable through Ploi's API, so database users come along without them.
  • File backups configured in Ploi do not come along: Vimonto Deploy backs up databases to your own S3-compatible storage.

How deployments work in Vimonto Deploy

Questions about Vimonto Deploy and Ploi

Is Vimonto Deploy an alternative to Ploi?

Yes. Both set up servers in your own cloud account or on your own VPS and deploy PHP and JavaScript apps from Git. Ploi supports more providers, Debian, file backups and status pages; Vimonto Deploy includes every feature, such as teams and zero-downtime deploys, on every plan.

Can I move my Ploi servers without downtime?

Yes. The import takes servers over in place: nothing is reinstalled and DNS does not change. Sites, certificates, workers, cron jobs, databases and deploy scripts come along, and Ploi's own files are kept in a backup folder on the server.

Which is cheaper, Vimonto Deploy or Ploi?

For a few servers without teams, Ploi's Basic and Pro plans cost less. With a team or more than 10 servers you need Ploi's Unlimited plan at €30 per month. Vimonto Deploy is free for 1 server and 3 sites, and Premium costs €15 per month per organization with every feature and no limits.

Are both GDPR-friendly?

Ploi says it is made in the Netherlands, hosted in Europe and GDPR compliant; Vimonto Deploy is made and hosted in the EU. In both cases your servers stay in your own cloud account, in the region you choose.

Your next deploy could be live before your coffee is.

Create an organization, connect a server and push. That is all.
