Where Vimonto Deploy and RunCloud differ
Where RunCloud is stronger. RunCloud has a deep WordPress toolset: file and incremental backups with free backup storage on every plan, staging environments, OpenLiteSpeed as an alternative to Nginx, Docker-based servers, application firewalls, many caching options, and AWS Lightsail and UpCloud as providers. If you mainly host WordPress sites, RunCloud covers more of that.
Where Vimonto Deploy differs. It is built for deploying apps from Git: every deploy builds a new release and switches over only when it succeeded, and an earlier release is one click away. RunCloud offers atomic deploys from its Business plan ($49 per month); its documentation describes rolling back by reverting the commit and deploying again. Vimonto Deploy also supports PostgreSQL, load balancing and uptime checks for every site.
What the price includes. On RunCloud, team roles, Cloudflare DNS and the API start with the Business plan. Vimonto Deploy has one paid plan, Premium at €15 per month per organization without server limits, and every feature, including teams, the API and the CLI, is also on the free plan. See billing.
Where it comes from. RunCloud is run by RunCloud Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian company. Vimonto Deploy is made and hosted in the EU, with an interface in English, Dutch, German, French and Italian. In both cases your servers stay in your own cloud account, in the region you choose.
Information about RunCloud was checked on 7 October 2026 from its public website and documentation, linked above. RunCloud is a trademark of its owner; it is named here only to compare.
Moving over from RunCloud
Vimonto Deploy cannot import RunCloud servers. You move site by site to a fresh server, so you can test everything before visitors arrive.
Create a server at your cloud provider from Vimonto Deploy, or connect a clean Ubuntu 24.04 server of your own. Create each site from the same Git repository, copy its environment file, and import a dump of its database. The site runs on a free on-deploy.link address straight away, so you can check it. Then point your domain to the new server (automatically when a DNS integration manages it) and request a free Let's Encrypt certificate. When everything runs, remove the old server from RunCloud and your cloud account.
- Uploaded files that are not in Git (such as WordPress media) need to be copied over yourself, for example with
rsyncfrom the browser terminal. - Plan the DNS switch for a quiet moment and lower the TTL of your records a day before.
Questions about Vimonto Deploy and RunCloud
Is Vimonto Deploy an alternative to RunCloud?
Yes, especially for Laravel, Symfony and JavaScript apps deployed from Git. Both manage servers in your own cloud account. RunCloud offers more for WordPress hosting, such as file backups, staging sites and OpenLiteSpeed; Vimonto Deploy offers zero-downtime deploys with one-click rollback, PostgreSQL, load balancing and teams on every plan.
Can I import my RunCloud servers?
No. Imports in place are available from Laravel Forge and Ploi. From RunCloud you move sites to a new server: create the sites from Git, import the databases and switch DNS when they are ready.
Which is cheaper, Vimonto Deploy or RunCloud?
RunCloud's Essentials plan costs $9 per month for 1 server; atomic deploys, teams and the API come with Business at $49 per month. Vimonto Deploy is free for 1 server and 3 sites, and Premium costs €15 per month per organization with every feature and no limits.
Does Vimonto Deploy back up files?
No. Vimonto Deploy backs up MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL databases to your own S3-compatible storage. Your code comes from Git; files your app stores should live in object storage or be backed up separately.
