Where Vimonto Deploy and ServerPilot differ

Hosting stack or deploy platform. ServerPilot sets up and secures a PHP hosting stack (Nginx, Apache, PHP-FPM and MySQL), keeps it updated and isolates every app under its own system user. It works at any cloud provider, and its Apache layer means WordPress and .htaccess rules work as usual. Vimonto Deploy also deploys your code: every push can build a new release that only goes live when it succeeded, with one-click rollback, queue workers, scheduled jobs and framework features such as Horizon and Reverb.

What is built in. Vimonto Deploy includes database backups to your own S3-compatible storage, server monitoring with alerts, uptime checks for every site, PostgreSQL, load balancing, teams with five roles and an audit log. ServerPilot's pricing page and documentation do not list these; its detailed metrics come with the Business and First Class plans.

How you pay. ServerPilot charges per server and per app, by the hour, which suits a few small servers. Vimonto Deploy charges per organization: free for 1 server and 3 sites, or Premium at €15 per month with unlimited servers and sites. See billing.

Where it comes from. ServerPilot is run by Less Bits, Inc. in Washington, US. Vimonto Deploy is made and hosted in the EU, with an interface in English, Dutch, German, French and Italian.

Information about ServerPilot was checked on 7 October 2026 from its public website and documentation, linked above. ServerPilot is a trademark of its owner; it is named here only to compare.

Moving over from ServerPilot

Vimonto Deploy cannot import ServerPilot servers. You move app by app to a fresh server, so you can test everything before visitors arrive.

Create a server at your cloud provider from Vimonto Deploy, or connect a clean Ubuntu 24.04 server of your own. For each app, create a site (from a Git repository, or a WordPress site), and import a dump of its database. The site runs on a free on-deploy.link address straight away, so you can check it. Then point your domain to the new server and request a free Let's Encrypt certificate. When everything runs, delete the old server.

  • Vimonto Deploy runs Nginx without Apache: rewrite rules from .htaccess files need to become Nginx rules or redirects.
  • Files that are not in Git (such as WordPress uploads) need to be copied over yourself, for example with rsync from the browser terminal.

Questions about Vimonto Deploy and ServerPilot

Is Vimonto Deploy an alternative to ServerPilot?

Yes, if you want more than a hosting stack. Both manage servers in your own cloud account. ServerPilot focuses on a secure PHP and WordPress stack with Apache for .htaccess support; Vimonto Deploy adds Git deploys with zero downtime, database backups, monitoring, teams and JavaScript apps.

Can I import my ServerPilot servers?

No. Imports in place are available from Laravel Forge and Ploi. From ServerPilot you move apps to a new server: create the sites, import the databases and switch DNS when they are ready.

Which is cheaper, Vimonto Deploy or ServerPilot?

For one small server with a few apps, ServerPilot's Economy plan ($5 per server plus $0.50 per app per month) can cost less. Vimonto Deploy is free for 1 server and 3 sites, and Premium costs €15 per month per organization for any number of servers and sites, with every feature.

Does Vimonto Deploy support .htaccess files?

No. Vimonto Deploy serves sites with Nginx only. Redirects and rewrite rules are set in the site's Nginx configuration or on its redirects page.

Your next deploy could be live before your coffee is.

Create an organization, connect a server and push. That is all.
